Well the day has finally arrived and Sunstone, Book 2 of The Elemental Wars, is out in the US! (it comes out in the UK on April 3rd). You can order it from all the usual retailers – click here for further details.
Heartwood (Book 1) covered themes of birth, death and rebirth, and Sunstone continues and expands upon these themes. The king of the Incendi fire elementals is a firebird, and the story takes place across three separate timelines that interweave through the epic tale.
If you like nature religions, Arthurian-style tales of ties between the land and its people, epic journeys through both time and space, battles, heroes and romance, then Sunstone may be the book for you 🙂
And if you’re still not sure if The Elemental Wars is for you, why not try me for free? Bearcub is a prequel long short story, about a boy who travels to Heartwood to join the Militis only to find he has to decide what’s more important: his future or his honour. What will he choose?
Bearcub is currently free on Smashwords and should be available to download from most major retailers soon.
The 21st March was declared World Poetry Day by UNESCO back in 1999. The website says: “The observance of World Poetry Day is also meant to encourage a return to the oral tradition of poetry recitals, to promote the teaching of poetry, to restore a dialogue between poetry and the other arts such as theatre, dance, music and painting, and to support small publishers and create an attractive image of poetry in the media, so that the art of poetry will no longer be considered an outdated form of art, but one which enables society as a whole to regain and assert its identity.”
So in celebration of poets and poetry everwhere, here’s one of mine for you, inspired by the following pictures.
